Instagram’s video editing app, Edits, has been launched to compete against TikTok’s CapCut. Edits is an all-in-one video creation platform which allows users to search for reels trends, edit videos which are up to three minutes long and use Instagram’s various video effects.
Facebook Announces New Measures To Combat Spam Posts And Comments
Meta is taking new steps to crack down on spam content on Facebook in order to combat the rise of inauthentic profiles. Some methods that they will be taking to reduce such content is identifying posts where the visuals do not match the content of the caption and the overuse of hashtags. This is because Meta believes that such methods are used by spam accounts to gain an advantage in Meta’s algorithm.
Meta Verified Looks To Drive Take Up Among Brands With New Elements
Meta is adding some new elements to its paid verification offering for brands. This includes a new option that will enable Meta Verified profiles to tag their content as “Original” so that users will be able to view the linked original content from the reposts. This could benefit brands looking to encourage participatory content, essentially when running social contests and giveaways.

Klook has launched a content series featuring Marie Kondo, showing how she embarks on her journey of reinvention by trying activities available on Klook. In addition to this series and out-of-home placements, Klook also launched a personality quiz and a multi-sensory journey by collaborating with Oo La Lab to take the idea of self-discovery further.
The Awakening Foundation Spotlights Reproductive Injustice In Taiwan
The Awakening Foundation campaign ‘Unfreeze my Rights’ exposes the unfair reality of reproductive rights in Taiwan as women who want to freeze their eggs have to first be married. The campaign consists of a series of videos showing women speaking out their truth on social media and also an on-ground activation in Taipei where a woman asked people to help her by marrying her. The campaign went viral and resulted in over 100 influencers and 82 media outlets covering the story.
Greenpeace Marks Earth Day With A Campaign On Environmental Crisis
Greenpeace Brazil’s campaign ‘What Planet is This?’ spotlights the tangible effects of climate change across the country in conjunction with Earth Day. This campaign uses photography to show different landscapes in the style of space photography in contrast to the real appearances of these landscapes. The campaign urges people to not let the effects of climate change turn the planet unrecognisable.
