TikTok Rolls Out More Ways To Control Content Recommendations
TikTok is rolling out new control options for the videos that appear on the “For You” feed, which will give users more ways to customise their TikTok stream to better align with their content preferences. Users can use a slider function under “Manage Topics” to adjust their interest levels towards more than ten broad topics. Furthermore, TikTok’s ‘Smart Keyword Filter” allows users to enter the keywords related to content that they do not want to be recommended. While this can possibly protect users from harmful content, this may also restrict the variety of content a user sees on TikTok.
WhatsApp Adds Status Functionalities, Including More Music Sharing Options
WhatsApp is adding some new creative options to Status, its Stories-like option for the messaging app. This includes an updated Layout option, more music sharing functionality, photo stickers, and more. WhatsApp is also adding new music sharing options and in the process of exploring music sharing options from Spotify to boost engagement on the platform.
YouTube Adds Lens Search Functionality To Shorts
YouTube is testing out a new option that will enable Shorts viewers to search whatever they can see in a Shorts clip using Google’s Lens technology to scan Shorts videos for objects, people, or even languages to be translated. This feature will not be available for YouTube shorts with affiliate links or product promotions tagged via YouTube shopping.

Bangkok Roads Transformed Into Immersive ‘Checkpoints of Loss’ To Raise Speeding Awareness
Toyota Motor Thailand launched a road safety campaign titled “Save Speeding Loss,” aimed at raising awareness of the emotional consequences of speeding-related accidents.
The campaign transformed Siam Square Soi 5, one of Bangkok’s busiest streets, into a series of immersive installations called Checkpoints of Loss. Each installation depicted personal stories, illustrating the effects of speeding. This creates a shared moment of reflection to spark real change in driving behaviour.
MindNation Tackles Digital Burnout In Their Campaign ‘Learn To Pause’
In a world saturated with doomscrolling and digital fatigue, MindNation has launched ‘Learn to Pause’, a campaign developed focused on holistic mental health and well-being.
Many people find themselves constantly online which may result in them being disconnected. Social media has also become a growing source of anxiety. Through insights gleaned from licensed psychologists and scientific studies, ‘Learn to Pause’ was conceptualized as endless looping videos featuring repetitive patterns that activate mirror neurons, improving relaxation by mimicking calming rhythms in the brain.
Singapore’s Libraries Bring Stories To Life With Augmented Reality Partnership
As part of Singapore’s National Library Board (NLB) efforts to inspire discovery and spark a renewed passion for reading, it is exploring the use of Spectacles, an Augmented Reality glass to enhance reading experiences. These glasses provide complementary sound effects in real time and use text recognition to show accompanying visual effects, enabling readers to be more deeply immersed in what they are reading.
